How To Use Social Media To Promote

Well, you certainly won’t increase android installs, ratings and reviews by adding the Play Store URL to your question. I mean, come on, you can’t even click on the link like this. You could have at least put it in the question details field. It would still be a cheap and poor attempt, though, since it’s as clear as day you’re not actually looking for advice, but hoping for a few clicks, installs and android reviews. Not going to happen.

I’m still going to leave this here and answer your question with a couple of ideas:

  1. First of all, no matter what marketing scheme you pull off, the main question is whether you have a good product that people want to and enjoy to use. I’m not quite sure why you would think that there’s a market for yet another Candy Crush copycat.
  2. You could email all your family members, friends, and acquaintances, telling them that you’ve got a new game and you’d love to get their feedback. People like to feel important and offer advice. Listen to what they have to say and enhance your product.
  3. Improve your Play Store copy and creatives, highlighting key features and why it’s fun to play. For the love of God, please don’t lie, stating that “Candy Mania is a very popular match -3 game, which has over 10 Million players in 2017” when just below it’s clearly there that you’ve only got 10 - 50 installs. Google ASO and follow best practices. Oh and have I already said DON’T LIE?
  4. Create a Facebook page and run contests using tools. Get creative, and offer prizes that are meaningful and somewhat connected to your product/brand, e.g. you could offer a sh*tload of sweets and candy to winners.
  5. Try running a Facebook app install campaign, and target people who are into Candy Crush. Again, you’ll probably get some installs, but that’s not going to help you too much if you can’t retain them. See point number 1.
  6. You could also run a mobile app install campaign on android promotion.
  7. Think about a way to introduce a viral factor into the game, giving incentive to users to share it with their friends. Incentive means that they should receive something from you in return, e.g. unlock new content or get rid of the annoying ads that are not going to pay off anyway.
  8. Try some of the alternative app stores, maybe you get lucky and get a few downloads.
  9. Reach out to mid-level celebs on Instagram, who have a decent following but haven’t become “superstars” yet. Pay them to create a post about playing your game, temporarily inserting a link to it on their profiles.
  10. Search for relevant reddit communities and post your game, asking for feedback. Be prepared to be trolled & mocked by edgy reddit users.
