 You should know how to do android app promotion, here you did the same mistake again. You should have posted the play store link of your game with the question, so that every Quoran who will see your question, will download and try your game out of curiosity. So, from now, share your link, whenever you mention your game to anyone. It will increase the downloads.

Now coming to the real strategy. I hope you have a Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, accounts (if not make one, at least on Facebook and Twitter). Now share your link(with a description of 1-2 line) on Facebook and Twitter. Say something like, “hey friends, I've developed an awesome game where you can….blah blah…..try it and give me your reviews about it”

Join different groups on Facebook, related to gaming, game development, programming etc. Frequently share your link on those groups. I bet at least 1 out of 10 people, who see your link will download and try it.

You can of course pay for ads, pay for downloads, (heck you can even pay for android installs, ratings and reviews - though I wouldn’t recommend that as I’m sure it’s against the Terms of Service) etc., I just wanted to point out what you can do without a financial investment.

And most important, never lose hope. Once your app will have proper android ratings on play store, it will be boosted. Random people will start to download. In my experience Google Play favors apps which are frequently updated. So there are two steps to have success:

Have keywords that people actually search for frequently (like: “strategy game”, “turn based”, “4x” etc. was in my case). Update your app at least once a week (of course try to make the updates meaningful).

In time your app will grow and you will get more hits on organic searches. If you don’t update an app for a couple of weeks, it will be demoted in the search results. This way I reached 50000 downloads on my free game, without ever advertising it.
