Best Way To Get More Downloads 2020

In 2020, the best way to get more downloads is to first, make sure you have a product people want to use every day. Too many times simple single-use apps get published and the developers wonder why nobody is downloading it or using it. An app trend is for hobby developers while an app business continues to update and innovate.

When you have a product that people want the word spreads fast. Users tell their friends. People want to write about it. VCs want to fund it. The app stores want to feature it. Opportunities for android app promotion will be everywhere.

The second way to get more android installs, ratings and reviews is by simply having an appropriate budget for the number of downloads/ android reviews and daily active users you need to grow your company. A company without a substantial UA budget will never survive these days. Unfortunately, gone are the days of free or low-cost methods to gain visibility. Lastly, a download is not a user. Most companies speak in terms of engagement, retention and monetization numbers rather than downloads.

Calculating Life Time Value and understanding how to use your UA budget are 2 of the most important skills a developer needs to have in 2020. Know your market, know your numbers, constantly test everything, and keep at it!

For me when it comes to promoting an app, although we have the Apple or Google Play store, we still don’t have a search engine like Google that works so well for desktop sites. The search functionality on the stores is quite poor, and I think ASO is a rather uphill struggle. That means you need to try other methods of promotion…

Have you thought about using Partner brands to promote your app? For me this is one of the most innovative and effective ways. The idea is that you work closely with like-minded brands who will promote your services, either in an affiliate capacity or by emailing their audience about your app. If your app solves a problem or provides a useful service for a companies’ audience then they would be only too willing to promote it.
